There is going to be plenty of star power at this year’s Roland-Garros, and it won’t all be on the court.
On Thursday, TNT Sports revealed its full coverage team for the tournament that starts May 25. The group includes a number of tennis legends, including Venus Williams, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Chris Evert and Boris Becker:
The legendary coverage team features a combined seven Hall of Famers, 99 Grand Slam titles and 22 Roland-Garros trophies.
McEnroe, Agassi, Evert, Becker, Lindsay Davenport, Jim Courier and Mats Wilander are the seven Hall of Famers, while Williams is one of the most famous tennis players in the sport’s history as a seven-time Grand Slam champion who will undoubtedly earn Hall of Fame status one day as well.
The press release revealed that Williams will contribute to the tournament’s coverage by “hosting a series of special features highlighting the rich history of the clay court tournament and the intersection of the sport of tennis and Parisian culture.”
Thursday’s reveal comes after TNT Sports and Warner Bros. Discovery announced last month that Agassi would be part of its inaugural coverage of Roland-Garros.
Agassi is an eight-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist who remains the most recent American man to win the French Open singles title. That 1999 triumph gave him the career Grand Slam after he previously won the Australian Open, U.S. Open and Wimbledon.
He is far from the only one on TNT Sports’ team to experience success at Roland-Garros, as Evert holds the record with seven women’s singles titles. Elsewhere, Courier remains the only American man to win the title in back-to-back years (1991 and 1992).
The coverage will also feature 2018 Australian Open women’s singles champion Caroline Wozniacki and 2018 Roland-Garros women’s singles finalist Sloane Stephens, among others.
It is all part of TNT Sports’ first time covering the Grand Slam event after reaching a 10-year agreement to present it in the United States. The coverage will include live matches on TNT, studio coverage and whiparound action on truTV, and every match on Max.
Highlights and other coverage will be available on Bleacher Report and House of Highlights.
TNT Sports’ portfolio also features the NBA, MLB, NCAA men’s basketball tournament, NHL, United States Soccer, NASCAR, Unrivaled, the Big East, the Big 12 and the Mountain West.
