After losing re-election in 2024, Former Montana Senator Jon Tester has spoken out against trans athletes in women’s sports. During an interview on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher on Friday, Tester said he agreed with California Governor Gavin Newsom’s recent comments that allowing trans athletes in women’s and girls’ sports is “deeply unfair.” “In that statement, Gavin Newsom is 100% correct,” Tester said. “We’re talking about a very, very, very small amount of people who, by the way, men shouldn’t be playing in women’s sports. It’s a bunch of crap.” However, Tester also argued, like many other Democrats, that it is an…

Kyiv, Ukraine CNN — The seismic shift of the past fortnight is hard to digest. Ukraine and its allies hope, deeply, that the plank Kyiv has been slammed in the face with, is – to paraphrase US President Donald Trump’s presidential envoy to Ukraine – just to get its attention. That the White House is merely pausing military aid and intelligence sharing, demanding about half of the country’s mineral wealth to repay an alleged debt, and expecting a public apology from its president, as a negotiating ploy. That this is just tough talk ahead of a hard deal. But a…

CNN — Disney fans probably remember the scene in the classic 1961 film “101 Dalmatians” in which the Dalmatian Pongo sits by a window, watching other dogs and their owners walk by outside. Each dog that goes past looks uncannily like its owner. Dogs who resemble their human owners has been observed in research, too. In one study, published in 2015, women with long hair tended to prefer dogs with similarly long ears, and women with short hairstyles preferred prick-eared dogs. Experts say this psychological phenomenon is a result of us humans preferring pets, people or even objects that resemble…

CNN — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said calls for negotiations by “bully states” are aimed at dominating others, not resolving issues, after US President Donald Trump urged him to reach a nuclear deal. Trump told Fox News this week that he had written a letter to Khamenei, adding “there are two ways Iran can be handled: militarily, or you make a deal. I would prefer to make a deal, because I’m not looking to hurt Iran.” “I said, ‘I hope you’re going to negotiate, because it’s going to be a lot better for Iran,’ and I think…
